Stadhuis. Ten noorden van de kerk gelegen gebouw op de hoek van de Koepoort- en de Roggestraten, bestaande uit het Schepenhuis (XV) aan de Koepoortstraat en daarachter het Wijnhuis. (XIVc). Gerestaureerd in 1939-'40 door N. de Wolf. Het Schepenhuis bestaat uit een beganegrondverdieping met zeer hoge kap, aan de voorzijde afgesloten door een gotische trapgevel van het Nederrijns-laatgotische type met korfboognissen, overhoeks geplaatste bakstenen pinakels en een torentje met uitvormige bekroningen. Ook in de zijgevel korfboognissen. Het Wijnhuis heeft aan de achterzijde een imponerende, bij de restauratie grotendeels gereconstrueerde trapgevel met een architectuur van nissen met vorktraceringen en blinde, bakstenen kruiskozijnen. In de beganegrond smalle tweelichtskozijnen. In de vrijliggende zijgevel van het Schepenhuis een zandstenen poortje (XVII). Description
Town Hall. Building located north of the church on the corner of the Koepoort- and Roggestraten, consisting of the Aldermen's House (15th century) on the Koepoortstraat and behind it the Wine House (second half of 14th century). Restored in 1939-'40 by N. de Wolf. The Aldermen's House consists of a ground floor storey with very high roof truss, closed off on the front side by a Gothic stepped gable of the Lower Rhine late-Gothic type with segmental arch niches, diagonally placed brick pinnacles and a small tower with flared crownings. Also in the side gable segmental arch niches. The Wine House has on the rear side an imposing stepped gable, largely reconstructed during the restoration, with an architecture of niches with fork traceries and blind brick cross windows. In the ground floor narrow two-light cross windows. In the detached side gable of the Aldermen's House a sandstone small gateway (17th century). Internally: cellar with brick cross vaults on four sandstone pillars, old framework with Gothic keystone brackets and in the Council Chamber fireplace with decorative plasterwork 1665 on the breast.
