Omschrijving
Onregelmatig complex van grote oudheidkundige waarde, bevat de restanten van de oudste bewaard gebleven wereldlijke bouwkunst in Deventer, hetgeen uitwendig blijkt uit het middeleeuwse muurwerk van trachiet en tufsteen, waarin sporen zichtbaar zijn van romaanse boogvensters. Aan de zijde van de Stroomarkt is zowel een uitspringend smaller gedeelte als een daartegen aangebouwd breder, iets naar achterliggend gedeelte voorzien van rechte gevels, in de bestaande toestand XIX bepleisterd en afgesloten door eenvoudige lijsten. De hoge zadeldaken van beide gedeelten aan de Stromarkt verenigd en gemaakt tot een omlopend schilddak. Aan de achterzijde wordt het diepe complex afgesloten door twee topgevels met XVI kenmerken. Inwendig gelijkstraats langs de Sandrasteeg een vestibule en aangrenzend vertrek, beide overdekt door een ribloos kruisgewelf. Op de tweede verdieping nis met romaans deelzuiltje XIII/XIX.

Description
Irregular complex of great archaeological value, containing the remains of the oldest surviving secular architecture in Deventer, which is evident externally from the medieval masonry of trachyte and tufa, in which traces are visible of Romanesque arched windows. On the side of the Stroomarkt there is both a projecting narrower section and a wider, somewhat recessed section built against it, both provided with straight facades, in the existing condition of the 19th century plastered and closed off by simple cornices. The high gabled roofs of both sections on the Stroomarkt united and made into an encircling hipped roof. On the rear side the deep complex is closed off by two stepped gables with 16th-century characteristics. Internally at ground level along the Sandrasteeg a vestibule and adjacent room, both covered by a ribless cross vault. On the second storey a niche with Romanesque half-column of 13th/19th century.
