Omschrijving
Begijnhof. Gesticht in 1267 en in 1535 van het kasteelplein naar deze plaats overgebracht. Toegankelijk door een moderne poort (een voorafgaande classicistische uit 1830 is in 1954 gesloopt) en bestaande uit een hof (met pompen) omzoomd door lage huisjes (merendeels zestiende-eeuws, gewijzigd in de achttiende eeuw) en een tweede binnenplaatsje met huisjes uit 1863. Aan de zijde tegenover de poort de kapel, 1836-'37, door A. van der Aa, in Waterstaatsstijl. Eenklaviers orgel, in 1838 bewerkt door A. Derksen van Angeren. Daarnaast de pastorie (1850).

Description
Beguinage. Founded in 1267 and moved in 1535 from the castle square to this location. Accessible through a modern gate (a preceding Classical one from 1830 was demolished in 1954) and consisting of a courtyard (with pumps) bordered by low houses (mostly sixteenth-century, modified in the eighteenth century) and a second inner courtyard with houses from 1863. On the side opposite the gate the chapel, 1836-'37, by A. van der Aa, in Waterstaats style. Single-manual organ, worked on in 1838 by A. Derksen van Angeren. Adjacent to it the parsonage (1850).
