The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
A prominent post-war public housing development designed in the 1940s by Ministry of Finance architect T.F.O. Rippingham. The estate is characterised by brick built units enlivened by stylistic features such as porthole windows and square panels of projecting brickwork. Some original integrity has been lost through progressive owner-occupation, and no original metal framed windows remain. This estate was surveyed in the First Survey but not listed. Only a Partial Survey was taken during the Second Survey as the estate is not of sufficient interest to warrant a full Second Survey.
