Exterior description and setting
Site (on the S side of the Ballydorn Road c.2 miles NE of Killinchy) of former single storey thatched cottage, now demolished.
First Survey Record: 'Single storey cottage; roof thatched; gable ends. Chimneys roughcast. Walls rendered and painted white. North front has 2 casement windows; horizontal astragals and central sheeted door. Right hand window in 6in deep recess.
Condition poorish. About 35 feet front.'
Historical information
A building is shown on this site on the OS maps of 1834 and that of 1859-60. The owner of the building is not stated in the first valuation of c.1835, but the second valuation records of c.1861 state that the building contained two dwellings [?one room] both belonging to a Hamilton Patton but leased to James Orr and James Maxwell respectively.
The building was demolished some time after January 1974.
