Exterior description and setting
Road bridge carrying the Kilcarn Road over the Capel Water, sited c.2.5 miles SE of Ballygowan.
Little can be seen of this bridge as it is almost entirely covered in greenery, however it appears to be constructed of basalt rubble with a single semicircular arch. The bridge also appears to be largely original.
The road is covered in tarmac.
Historical information
A bridge is shown on this site on the OS Maps of 1834 and 1858. On the former map, however, the bridge is marked ‘Dunder [or Dundee] Bridge’.
