Exterior description and setting
Sandstone rubble built road bridge over the Enler River, c.1 mile NW of Comber. The bridge has two segmental arches and a central ‘cut water’ pier The bridge now has tie rods inserted and the parapet on the N side appears to have been re-constructed and has uppermost stones placed in an upright (‘spike’-like) position
Historical information
A bridge on this site is marked on the OS Maps of 1833/4 and 1858-60, though it named as‘Knockmashan Bridge’ in 1834.
