Exterior description and setting
Site of former terrace of fourteen two storey houses built possibly c.1850 and demolished c.1988, with recently built terrace (c.1989) now on site.
Description from 1st Survey card " 2 sty terrace of 14 houses. Roof slated but corr/asbestos over nos 3,2 & 1. Chimneys rendered but rustic brick at nos 2 & 1. Wall rendered and lined but nos 14,13 & 1 also painted. F/fl cill course and bevel stone base from nos 14 to 6 . Bevel stone quoins at LH end. Windows varied within same shape - D/H, Georgian panes - horiz astragals, no astragals and recent casements. Doorways of 3 types (a) pilasters with lintel frieze and block pediment, (b) s/c arch head, bevel jointed surround, 3 keystones, (c) s/c plain archivolt & keystone on blocked pilasters. All in stonework. Doors also vary - sheeted & recent. Between nos 9 & 8, a coachway, elliptic arch head, bevelled in and out band. Stone surround. Sheeted doors."
Historical information
The former terrace on this site was built (possibly) in c.1850s. The terrace was demolished c.1988 and new houses built on the site shortly afterwards.
