The Department's description

Site (on the W side of the Upper Gransha Road c.3.5 miles NE of Newtownards), of former single storey vernacular house, now demolished.

Description from 1st Survey card " Single/sty cottage. Roof slated, gable ends. Brick chimneys. Walls rubble, rendered and white washed. Front has window - door - window - door - window. Windows D/H horiz astragals. Doors sheeted. R/H door also half door."

A building is shown on this site on the revised OS Map of 1858-60, but not that of 1834, suggesting that the building formerly present dated to between these dates.
