Exterior description and setting
Site of former house with outbuildings at the eastern end of the Movilla Road, demolished ?c.1982 with modern nursing home built in place.
Description from 1st Survey. " 2/sty house with single/sty garage extension on L/H and with outbuildings forming enclosed yard behind. Main house roof slated, gable ends, plain barges. Chimneys rendered & mld. Red tile ridge. Walls rendered, lined and painted dark green and cream. SW front has a 2 - 2/sty ariels with hipped roofs infringing on main roof. Windows D/H, no astragals. Cill courses & F/FL band course. Shaped rafter ends at eaves. Central bay has F/FL. D/H window, no astragals above doorway with wide projecting jambs and segmental arch canopy on mld brackets & framing inner recess, segmental arch head containing plain fanlight and panelled door, approached by 2 mlg. concrete steps. Some Virginia creeper on wall which has raised base.
Garage on L/H has heavy crenallated freize and "broken" parapet above. Up & over garage door. Gateway on main road has w/iron gate on cylindrical piers with springing band to semi-spherical top. Piers r/cast and painted."
Historical information
A building is shown on this site on the OS Maps of 1834 and c.1860. Former Movilla House demolished in recent times (?c.1982) with largish modern nursing home now on site.
