The Department's description

This building was surveyed in the First Survey but not listed. Only a Partial Survey was taken during the Second Survey as the building has been demolished.

Site of a former country house built in two phases, the large two to three-storey return a remnant of an 1820s (and earlier) mansion largely destroyed by fire in 1844, with the two-storey over basement front section added in 1881. The building was demolished in the 2000s and replaced with a new residence sited a short distance to the southwest. The extensive remains of the basement level of the 1820s house remain in place.
