Exterior description and setting
Modern part single storey, part two storey, primary school, off Abbey Road on the W side of Millisle. This school is of modern design and was constructed in 1959.
The main entrance is to the NW. It is mainly built of reddish-brown brick with mainly large glazed areas (with metal frames) throughout. Under some of the large glazed areas are ‘panels of timber and fibreglass.
The building is mainly one storey with a gabled pan tile roof, however, a small section to the SW has a flat roof as do some sections to the N.
To the NE is a large two storey section.
The school yard is to the rear (S) and some Portacabins was been placed just S of the main building also.

This school was built in 1959, possibly to designs by Smith & Carson of Belfast.
