The Department's description

Site of former, small, single storey thatched house on the W side of the Millisle Road, less than half a mile N of Millisle, demolished 1982 with modern dwelling now built in place.

Description from 1st Survey Card "Single/storey cottage, gable ends. Roof thatched. Chimney brick and rendered. Wall roughcast and whitened. S front has 2 D/H windows, Georgian panes and one horiz. astragal. Central door sheeted and half door shed on W gable."

On the OS Map of 1833/4 this general site is taken up with a number of small structures one of which appears to have matched the positioning of the recently demolished thatched cottage.
