The Department's description

Former late nineteenth century single storey house with decorated doorway, vermiculated quoins, finials, and sash and case windows with astragals, now completely rebuilt with two storeys, window and door openings enlarged and modern PVC doors and windows installed, limestone chip render and pan tiles, with all of the original features obliterated in the process. To all intents and purposes this house is modern, bearing absolutely no resemblance to the original in terms of decoration or proportion.

The original house on this site was built in the latter decades of the nineteenth century and retained much of its original form and decoration until recently. The current owner informed the writers that he believed that the present form of this house had been achieved merely by extending the older building, however, because all of the present fabric is modern, one suspects that the nineteenth century structure was probably largely demolished.
