The Department's description

The building has been demolished and a care home has been built on the site.

The First Survey card states:

'Good decor. Ionic portico in dressed sandstone, about 30 ft wide, recessed within the W front of Redburn House, now ruinous & derelict. 4 square columns with antae in side walls & entablature. Central projecting pediment supported on 2 Ionic panelled columns & with decor. frieze in entablature of pediment & decor. Oval shield with feature at apex. Square columns & those of pediment supported on base wall with forward columns framing approach by 8 steps to upper floor of portico. 2 window openings & central doorway in back wall of portico.

Condition of portico stonework fair but slight damage to end of cornice.

Suggest mid 19th c.'
