The Department's description

Crawfordsburn House outbuildings have been demolished. A residential development now stands on the site.

The First Survey card records:

‘A two-storey stone faced building with a centrally placed square battlemented tower containing a large archway (now glazed in) arranged in an open court layout. Gabled and slated with gabled dormers. Across the rear of the tower range is a later conservatory of no intrinsic interest; interiors also featureless. Nearby is a pair of ball-finialled gate piers of stone leading to a low range of outbuildings, the first one surmounted by a closed-up ventilator lantern with weathervane, and the most important one a two-storey gabled house in poor condition. It faces onto a walled garden, the wall of which has an upper portion of arcaded brickwork (blind), and which is also reached by another pair of ball-finialled gate piers, one of which has a wrought iron gate in Art Nouveau style. Art Nouveau style iron railings form part of the garden enclosure. An air of decay and neglect pervades all.

Designed by Vincent Craig, architect of the main house (Crawfordsburn House, now hospital) built in c 1906 for Sharman Crawford.
