Exterior description and setting
A single span road bridge, dated 1855, carrying private road in Castle Dobbs estate over Kilroot River. Random rubble abutments, spandrels and parapets; curved vermiculated sandstone coping. Single segmental-headed arch with dressed rockfaced voussoirs. Datestone on south elevation. Arch soffits are of random rubble. The carriageway is approximately 4m wide with recent tarmac surface.
The bridge is set in a private estate, with farm complex (HB22/13/001E) directly to west. Agricultural estate land in surrounding context.

A single-span road bridge, dated 1855, carrying private road in Castle Dobbs estate over Kilroot River. This is an elegant and simply detailed bridge enriched by dressed stone coping and voussoirs. The bridge is designed in keeping with the adjoining farm complex and has group value with the other listed buildings on the Castle Dobbs estate.
