The Department's description

Exterior description and setting

A two-storey, three-bay rendered house with gabled slated roof and two rustic brick chimneys equidistantly spaced on ridge. Dry dash render of white limestone chippings is a recent finish over previous rubble blackstone. Modern hardwood windows with small panes to entrance front are a recent replacement for previous triple light windows with 12-pane centre sashes to ground floor and 9-pane sashes to first floor. Modern entrance door and screen.
SETTING: The house stands in a rural area facing the road, set well back from it with a field in front; single storey rubble blackstone outbuildings of no architectural merit grouped around a yard to the rear; modern steel gates and posts to main entrance from road.

This is an early 19th century house of simple vernacular Georgian type but its original appearance has now been spoiled through inappropriate alterations.
