The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
Exterior not surveyed.
It was described in the first survey in 1972 as “A two-storey, three bay, rendered and whitened house with attics; each gable rises to a rendered chimney. The panelled door is flanked by full-height sidelights enclosing a 4-pane fanlight. All 16-pane sashed windows are 4-pane wide. There is a short brick return at rear.”
Historical information
The precise date of the building is uncertain but it is said to date from 1756; the first survey in 1972 recorded an inscription in the roof-space which read “April 3rd, 1756 re-roofed”. Formerly known as the ‘Mansion Farm’, it was sold through the Landed Estates Court in 1856, after which its name changed to ‘Park View’.

Evaluation
This is an externally little changed Georgian farm house, set in a pleasant rural setting.
