The Department's description

A two-storey building, three windows wide to the first floor, with a modern shop front to the ground floor. Main entrance faces north.

North elevation has snecked blackstone rubble to the gabled first floor; three rectangular timber 2-light casement windows set in white painted block dressings with chamfered reveals; apex of gable contains a plaque inscribed ‘Antrim National School 1841’.
Ground floor has shop front of modern style with roller metal shutters to window and door.

West elevation: roof of synthetic slates with modern flush rooflight; wall of roughcast render; four windows of modern plate glass.

Rear elevation: rendered gable, with dashed finish; flat roofed later lower extension of similar walling to side and rear of main block.

SETTING: The building stands facing the main street of the town, with a pedestrian lane along its side elevation.

Built in 1841 as a National School.
