Exterior description and setting
A single storey gabled house with rendered walls and tiled roof. Main entrance faces south-east.
Walls rendered with dry dash, with a smooth rendered plinth; roof of concrete tiles; one modern rustic brick chimney at intermediate position on ridge; PVC rainwater goods; windows modern rectangular timber fixed lights and casements. Timber barge boards to overhanging eaves on each gable; gable to right has one attic window, as previous; gable to left is blank, with asymmetrical roof. Two-storey rear elevation has short lean-to roofed rear return
SETTING: The house stands facing the main road within a small hamlet, but set back slightly from the road with a small garden area in front, surfaced in concrete, and enclosed by modern steel railings.
Described in the first survey in 1971 as "A thatched cottage with modern dashed walls. One gable rises to a modern brick chimney stack. There is a further stack off-centre in ridge. There are four plain-sashed windows and a modern part-glazed door on the main elevation."
Historical information
Precise date of building not known, but it appears on the OS map of 1829 & 32. Walls given modern dashed finish prior to 1971; thatched roof replaced by tiles subsequent to 1971.
