The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
Demolished and replaced by a new house. Described in the first survey in 1971 as "A single storey cruciform house with harled and whitened walls. The roofs are slated with half hexagonal ends and wide overhang to eaves; chimneys are rendered. D/H windows with full glazing bars originally extended to within 12 inches of ground level; some have been built up in lower half. Each arm of the building is faced with a half-hexagonal bay; three contain entrances and are French windows. Parts are in poor condition. Some modern windows have been inserted." It was described in the first survey in 1971 as being in "Regency style".
Historical information
Precise date of building not known but it appears on the OS map of 1858; partly destroyed by fire in 1976; subsequently renovated, but eventually demolished in 1987. The building was originally listed in 1974 and delisted in 1987.
