Exterior description and setting
A cow tail closed head lever type pump with a plain spirally decorated column and a fluted cap with an acorn finial. Located in front garden of house.
Historical information
Not on the 1901 25 inch OS map (PRONI Ref OS 10/1/63/5/1). House and pump shown on the 1920 edition (/2). According to the owner of the house, the pump was probably installed about 1905 by the Lisburn RDC to serve this and neighbouring houses. It was in use until 20-25 years ago. Although now in a private garden, this intact cow tailed water pump did serve several houses and was accessed from the road across a stone bridge (still in existence).
