The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
A closed head lever pump with a plain column and cap. It has the flag logo of Lee, Howl & Co of Tipton, England on one side and '3 1/2' on the other. It is complete save for a perished bucket seal. From the Lee, Howl & Co catalogue, it appears to be a 'Paragon York suction pump'. It is mounted on a board beside the front door of the house.
Historical information
Owner states that it was installed before 1922. A well only is shown at this location on the 1919 25 inch OS map (PRONI Ref OS 10/3/29/4/1). Probably installed c1920.

Evaluation
This simple lever type water pump has had its setting diminished by the refurbishment/replacement of the original house.
