The Department's description

A former three-storey nineteenth century house and surgery with slated roof and rendered walls, now demolished and replaced with a modern surgery building c. 1990.

The First Survey card records:

‘Pre 1833. an L – shaped, two – storey house with harled and whitened walls and steeply - pitched slated roof, hipped at the exterior and re – entrant angles, otherwise rising to gables parapet (s)tyle to Bridge (St). All main windows are triple D/H with full glazing bars. The entrance is recessed in an elliptical arched surround, the panelled door is flanked by three – pane sidelights, there is decorative glazing in the fanlight. The adjoining area contains a 2 storey brick built house two – windows wide with full g.b. Buildings to rear in Mill Street span the Mill race by means of a segmental – arched opening.
