The Department's description

Pair of carriage gates at main entrance to Ivybrook Lodge (HB16/29/007A).

Of wrought iron with vertical barb, divided into upper and lower sections, with cast details and spearhead finials to each bar. Solid granite piers rest on projecting plinth. Moulded panels to street and overhanging moulded copings. Flanking the piers is a screen of random rubble granite faced with squared granite blocks set in irregular courses, and with overhanging chamfered copings. The screen terminates in small square granite block piers with pyramidal caps.

Probably erected when the house was extended and the grounds landscaped in the mid 19th century.
