Historical information
This building is shown on the 1835 OS town map. The first valuation book notes its occupier in 1838 as one Eleanor Kerr. It is described in the 1863 second valuation has being 18ft 9in long by 22ft 6in wide by three storeys high. The present building is likely to be the one shown on the 1835 map, and is therefore of earlier date.

Evaluation
One in a group of five three-storey/ two-bay terraced houses fronting south side of Sandys Street. Although some alterations have been carried out, this house retains many original features. However, the remainder of the terrace is no longer worthy of listing and compromises the status of this building. Conservation area protection is more appropriate in this case.
