The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
In back of yard at rear of main block (HB16/28/073A) is a large single-storey shed.
Its roof is covered with corrugated metal and clear corrugated plastic sheets (formerly with a raised ridge section at middle, now dismantled and sheeted over). Supported on common rafters over triple purlins resting on nine queen-post trusses (with double struts). The latter have free spans of 14.15m (46' 5") and their ends rest on projecting stones near wall heads. Plastic rainwater goods, missing in parts.
Walls are of unrendered random granite rubble.
Rear gable punched by four openings, all with metal bars and one-piece dressed granite jambs, lintels and cills.
Front gable to yard is open.
Historical information
Shown on the Valuation Revision map as a spade mill and first cited in the Valuation Revision book of 1869, being operated by Messrs Carvill. Powered by a 12hp steam engine. Disappears from valuation books in 1888, suggesting it ceased operations.

Evaluation
Large single-storey shed. Primarily of interest because of its roof truss construction and former use as spade mill, but not of special interest.
