The Department's description

A roadside hand-operated water pump. Plain metal shaft embellished with two bands. Straight handle with slight out-turn at end. Fluted head, cap and spout, the latter with lug. Set in a small walled and fenced enclosure. Flag trademark symbol on shaft.

This pump is associated with the adjoining houses, all of which post-date 1929 (not being shown on either the 1919 OS 6" map, or cited in the Valuation revision book (1866-1929).
