The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
A pair of roadside outbuildings with rubble stone boundary wall. That to N is larger and is aligned W-E, with W gable directly set on road.
Roof of main building is pitched corrugated metal with a raised cement skew to E gable. Walls are whitewashed random rubble. W gable has a plain timber sheeted door which rises to apex, at centre. All other faces are blank.
To its right, is a smaller, similarly detailed outbuilding with W gable to the road. Its roof is monopitched with whitewashed cement skews. N face contains a central timber door with timber lintel. All other faces are blank. Left cheek and rear elevation are unrendered.
Between the buildings is a small central concrete yard enclosed from the road by a lime rendered wall of concrete blocks. It is accessed by a wrought iron gate, which is supported on a lime-rendered rubble stone gate pier. The yard is enclosed to rear by a lime rendered rubble wall.
Historical information
These outbuildings are first shown on the 1861 OS map (but not the 1835 edition). They are thus of mid 19th century date.
