Exterior description and setting
Two storey / two bay house set in a terrace and facing the sea on Osborne Promenade.
Pitched natural slate roof with chimney to left end. Front pitch of roof has two wall head dormers. Each has a pitched natural slate roof, plain bargeboards, and a shallow segmental headed 1/1 modern top-hung window. Half round plastic rainwater goods.
Front elevation faces SW and is smooth rendered and painted. All windows have painted granite cills. Left bay has a modern stained timber (seven-panelled) door with plain semicircular headed fanlight over. Bay to right has a modern 1/1 stained timber top-hung window. Identical window to each first floor bay.
Left gable is abutted by adjoining building 7 Osborne Promenade HB16/12/023B.
Rear elevation was not inspected.
Right gable is abutted by No 5 Osborne Promenade.
Small area to front of house is enclosed by a cement rendered dwarf wall.

Shown on the 1834 OS 6” map, along with the rest of this terrace. Noted in the 1835 First Valuation as measuring 22ft x 27ft6in x 22ft (identical to no.7).
