The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
Two and a half storey/ two bay house at right end of a larger terrace on S side of Great George’s Street.
Pitched natural slate roof with advanced eaves course supporting half round cast-iron gutters. Rendered and corbelled chimney to left party wall with HB16/11/034E. Wide central wall-head dormer to front with pitched roof and carved timber bargeboard.
Principal elevation faces SE to street. Walls are rendered and painted. Entrance is set to ground floor left in a semicircular-headed opening. Door is t+g sheeted with plain fanlight over (no glazing bars). To ground floor right bay is a 1/1 sliding sash with horns and painted cill. All windows are as this. First floor has a window to each bay - that to left (over entrance) is narrower than the right one. Dormer contains a pair of diminished-height sashes.
The area to front is enclosed by a dwarf wall carrying cast-iron railings with plain bars enclosing a small garden.
Left gable is completely abutted by adjoining building (HB16/11/034E).
Rear elevation was not inspected.
Right gable is completely abutted by adjoining building (HB16/11/032).
Historical information
Not on the 1834 town map. Shown on the 1861 map and described in the 1863 Valuation Book as measuring 6.25yds x 8.75yds x 2 2/3 storeys high, with a 1.5 storey return. Undoubtedly the same building as that standing today.

Although this house is little changed, it stands in a much altered terrace detracting from its overall character and appearance.
