Exterior description and setting

A single storey / two bay vernacular house, up lane from New Bridge on south bank of river.

Pitched artificial slate roof with a cement-rendered chimney with projecting coping to each gable. That to left gable has two pots. Walls are wet lime dashed and painted. No rainwater goods.

Principal façade faces north. To right side of left bay is a lean to porch. It has a roof which catslides from the main block and walls as front wall. To centre is t+g sheeted door with cottage latch and half door. Its cheeks are blank. There is a single 2/2 sliding sash window to each bay. Both have concrete cills and are sheeted over.

Left gable of house is abutted by single storey outhouse, which is same height and width as main block. Pitched corrugated iron roof with rendered skews. It has two openings to north façade: left one is a small window and right one is a t+g sheeted door.

Left gable of outbuilding is blank.

Rear wall is detailed as facade. The outhouse wall is set back slightly from house wall and is blank. House has a single 1/1 sliding sash to each bay (both sheeted over and without cills).

Right gable of main block is abutted by a lower single-storey one-bay outhouse. Corrugated asbestos roof, a single sheeted timber door to front, and a small vent window to rear. Right gable of outhouse is blank. Exposed section of main gable is also blank.

To rear right of house is one-storey outbuilding which is partially built into the bank. Pitched corrugated asbestos roof, rendered rubble walls. Door to front.
