The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
A large walled garden immediately south of a pair of estate workers’ houses (HB16/05/060A&B) within Mourne Park demesne.
Enclosed by a high squared and coursed granite rubble wall. Coachway on west wall with ashlar granite piers supporting a pair of corrugated metal gates. On north wall, opposite the houses, is a tall timber pedestrian gate set within similar ashlar piers.
Internally there are few features of interest, some old fruit trees being the only remains of its original use and a derelict greenhouse abuts the west wall.
The greenhouse is lean-to and three bays wide. Glazing is overlapping in vertical timber framing to roof and walls. The walls rest on a cement rendered brick plinth. Apex of roof rises above top of boundary wall and a small pitch falls to rear to tie in with wall head.
