Exterior description and setting
Demolished and replaced by modern house
Record from Second Survey first visit (Oct 98) states:
A two storey / four bay house facing south, at end of a long lane on the west side of Scrogg Road.
Pitched natural slate roof with four chimneys. All walls are smooth lined render.
Modern front door set within a modern inappropriate flat roofed timber glazed porch. All windows, one to left of door, two to right and four to first floor, are large modern two pane transomed casements with painted granite cills. Gables are blank and rear is of little interest.
Historical information
Shown on 1834 OS 6” map. According to 1834 Valuation, belonged to Rev. Gustavus Warner and valued at £10.13s.0d. Dimensions given as 49ft x 20ft x 16ft, and with two one-storey returns. This is probably the same house as the one that now exists.
The HMBB survey card is undated and blank.
