Exterior description and setting

Single storey/ six- bay house with hipped concrete-tiled roof. Three cement-rendered chimneys, all with two large pots; the two on the left were originally at the ends of the roof ridge before the later extension to right.

Walls are of granite but covered in modern pebbledash. There is a small flat roofed porch on the third bay of the east (front) elevation. Front door is margin paned with coloured glass. There are two windows to the left of the front door and three to the right (one to each bay), all modern top-hung plastic double-glazed units. The bay to the extreme right was added after the first world war.

There is also a modern flat roofed kitchen extension to rear.

Historical information

A building is shown on this site on the 1834 OS 6” map and captioned as ‘Glasdrumman Cottage’ on the 1859 edition. The 1972 HMBB survey card states ‘ A single storey, T shaped, rendered and whitened house with hipped slated roof and three chimneys. A gabled projecting porch is flanked to north by three and to south by two sash windows, some with vertical divisions.’
