The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
A small segmental arch carries a one-lane road over a stream. It is of randomly-laid sandstone blocks, with dressed voussoirs and rusticated parapet copings (to three faces). A pipe is carried across the downstream (south) face. Both faces are very overgrown with vegetation.
Historical information
A bridge is shown here on the 1834 OS 6" map. It is explicitly captioned 'Feugh Br' on the 1857 and subsequent editions. Judging by its style, the present structure could be mid 19th century rebuild of an earlier one; alternatively, it might also date from the period 1820-40.
The 1982 HMBB survey card and slide also note a small linteled culvert through which a drain discharges into the stream on the downstream left bank. This has been replaced with a concrete pipe.
