The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
A beehive shaped rubble stone sweat house set in wetland at the foot of a steep slope at the E of Corraghy Townland.
SE face contains a low rectangular opening with stone lintel. The structure contains no other openings.
Setting:
The sweat house is aligned directly S of a group comprising a turf house (HB12/01/047) and a stable (HB12/01/081). It is heavily overgrown and set in marshy ground with a stream and wooded area to the left. It is now enclosed by a wire fence and is accessed by a heavy modern timber gate.
Historical information
Too small a structure to show on any OS map. Date is therefore uncertain.
