Exterior description and setting
A single-span road bridge, built c.1850, carrying Botera Upper Road over Creevan Burn. Coursed rockfaced sandstone piers, splayed abutments, spandrels and parapet; rockfaced sandstone string course to carriageway level; segmental coping to parapet; parapet is rounded to north and south ends. Single elliptical-headed arch with dressed rockfaced voussoirs; soffit is ashlar sandstone.
The carriageway is approximately 4m wide. Agricultural land to north and south is bounded to road by hedging; to west, field is bounded to river at bridge by farm gate.

Historical information
A bridge is shown crossing the river from the first edition of the OS map in 1833. However, it is similar in style to bridges dating from c.1850, especially in its ornamentation.

Evaluation
A single-span road bridge, built c.1850, carrying Botera Upper Road over Creevan Burn. This well-proportioned sandstone bridge with its robust stonework detailing and dressings remains unaltered. The bridge follows the general form of others in the area and is a good example of the type and reflects the development of infrastructure in the county in the 19th century.
