The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
Demolished and the site absorbed into a graveyard with some fragments of the stonework arranged as a garden feature.
In the First Survey in 1970 the building was described as "a church consisting of nave, lateral chancel, and porch on opposite side. The walls are finished in roughcast and the roof is slated between parapet gables. The nave is lighted by leaded light windows glazed with coloured glass in two-centre arched openings with hood moulds and block surrounds. The entrance flanked by small columns is recessed in a similar opening. A small two-centre headed window occupies the space above the entrance. A modern three-light window glazed with stained glass is provided in the chancel end wall. Galleries occupy each end of the nave, a Tudor arch on moulded columns divides the nave and chancel, Memorials in the graveyard date back to 1856."
Historical information
The precise date of building is not recorded but stylistically it had the appearance of dating from the mid-19th century. It was demolished in 1982 following the building of a new church on the opposite side of the road which was opened in 1980.
