The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
This building has been demolished to make way for a new road layout together with a supermarket development. Described in the first survey in 1970 as follows - 'mid 19th century. The station has been heavily overpainted, the adjoining covered platform is of some interest; the roof supported by timber columns and trusses is finished by a sheeted fascia with carved motif.'
Historical information
