The Department's description

Exterior description and setting

These cottages have been demolished and replaced by a modern house.

Described in the first survey in 1970 as 'A terrace of 5 cottages built in unusual splayed plan. The stone walls are whitened or harled and whitened; the roofs are slated; one is in very poor condition. Each house has a sheeted door and a double-hung window in the front elevation; three windows have full glazing bars; the other two have sashes divided horizontally into two panes. The buildings are somewhat run down.'

Historical information

Appears on OS map of 1832. Known locally as ‘The Crooked Row’. Demolished c 1982.
