The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
Double-fronted two storey house of c.1860, now completely gutted and roofless, with the original rear wall demolished. The property is set on the E side of Mark Street.
The front elevation faces roughly W and is roughly symmetrical. There is a central door opening with a window opening to either side. To the first floor there are three window openings.
The entire rear wall has been removed and the walls of a new extension is in the process of being built.
External walls are constructed in limestone rubble. The entire roof is missing.
Historical information
Mark Street was laid out in the 1850s and named after Lord Mark (Kerr) McDonnell, the 10th Earl of Antrim. This house (No.9) does not appear to be shown on the OS map of 1858, but is undoubtedly the dwelling shown under construction on this site on the valuation map of 1859.

Evaluation
Double-fronted two storey house of c.1860, now completely gutted and roofless, with the original rear wall demolished.. Building work which will involve a complete reconstruction under way. All that is likely to remain of the original will be the front wall .
