Historical information
These water pumps were installed over wells in the later nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The other one was often broken and the majority of villagers drew water from this pump.

Evaluation
This is an increasing rare example of a once familiar feature and is a reminder if the time when drinking water was not available at the turn of a tap. It is in good condition and has social interest in that it served the whole village.
