The Department's description

2 classroom former school erected in 1936 as a Public Elementary School to a design similar to that advocated by Wilshere. The walls externally are roughcast and painted cream while the slightly projecting porch has a tonal contrast with burnt umber smooth rendering lined to resemble masonry. The ogee gutters and downpipes are in cast iron and the whole is in a good state of repair. The chimney stack pierces the roof ridge diagonally between the 2 classrooms.

The School activities ceased 20 years ago and the building has been added to quite and sensitively though the window articulation could have been more sympathetic. The school building has an Arts & Crafts flavour.

Erected in 1936, closed in 1976, now used as an outdoor education centre

Not listed

Not listed

Pre World War II primary school (1930s) of good design and neat detail, simple plan neatly sited. Extension for outdoor education activities does not spoil the overall form. Not, however sufficiently special to merit listing.
