The Department's description

A four bay long red brick building with natural slated roof and small porch at each gable with ,over each window both front and rear, square headed hood mouldings. At present it contains a simple space. Brick work is carried out in garden wall bond with neat brick kneelers under each barge. The decorative bargeboards to the main roof and porch roof have free flowing curves and just under the barge apex a neat oculus. Each porch gable has a slender round headed window. There is one chimney stack and one decorative pot.

Lewis Topographical Dictionary records 3 Kildare Place Society schools in the parish and one under the Board of National Education. This could be the school recorded as being supported by the rector. Probably built c. 1840. It is not shown on the 1831 map and D Girvan gives pre 1854. Griffiths Valuation refers to school and church education societies, school house and playground.
