Exterior description and setting
Circular basalt wall with sandstone coping of average height 900mm surmounted by a metre high cast iron railing painted white. The diameter is 6.0 metres approximately.
Historical information
Constructed circa 1825 as part of the first ordnance surveyof Ireland by Lt. Colby. It was used to set up a triangulation with similar towers in the region (HB02/09/008 and HB02/10/012) Industrial Archaeology Record Ref: 1897
