The Department's description

A pair of sandstone gate pillars, rectangular in cross section with elongated panel on each face. Low plinth with cyma reversa moulding. Fillet necking with 2 corbels to each panel supporting a wider cornice on top of which is an octagonal block chamfered on top edge. These are isolated pillars set back from line of footwalk and the former avenue has been abandoned and removed. In lieu of former gates there are gates of contemporary design. Both pillars are damaged. The bed joints half way up the pillars have been dislodged. Some of the stones are chipped.

These are the gates to the former Tillie’s residence. Since the house was taken over as a school and after road widening on the Northland Road a new entrance was formed further down Duncreggan Road to remove the entry further from the junction.
