Synnott writing c. 1680 lists a ruined chapel dedicated to St Nicholas at Ballyconnor (Hore, 1862, 69; 1921, 60). This is an estate chapel associated with the tower house (WX048-033001-) and it is situated on a level landscape with a small N-S stream c. 110m to the W. An outhouse attached to the N of the 16th century house (WX048-033003-) is a rectangular building (ext. dims. 9.9m E- W; 5.45m N-S; int. dims 7.25m E-W; 4.1m N-S) with walls (T 0.7m) that have conglomerate quoins. It is now roofed with corrugated iron but has a round headed doorway (Wth 0.87m; H 1.79m) of dressed granite with a chamfer and an internal hanging-eye towards the W end of the S wall. There are two inserted windows in the N wall, one in the S and one in the E. There is a blocked fireplace in the W wall. The chapel is on the N side of a possible bawn (WX048-033005-).
