The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a level landscape c. 120m S of the sea-cliffs (H c. 10m) W of Rosslare Harbour. A substantial house and a windmill are depicted on the Down Survey (1656-8) barony map of Forth and the parish map of Kilrane, where Ballygerry incorporates Haysland townland, and the windmill is depicted at the E edge of Ballygerry close to the sea. A windmill stump is depicted on the 1839 and 1940 eds of the OS 6-inch map in this area and was probably the original mill, of which there is no trace now.
